Five lodges carry the names of the birds that wake the estate — Chaffinch, Robins Rest, Herons Nest. These are the traditional ones: pitched roofs, deep eaves, a vaulted ceiling that opens the living room right up to the ridge.
Everything is on one level. Three bedrooms — the master en suite, VOYA seaweed soaps in both bathrooms — arranged around an open-plan kitchen and living space that spills out onto the deck. The heron fishes the Shannon a few hundred metres down the hill. You’ll hear the chaffinches before your coffee’s done.

All three bedrooms, both bathrooms and the living space sit on a single floor — the easiest of our lodges for anyone who'd rather not manage stairs. The ceiling lifts to a high vault over the living room, so it never feels low.
