A-frame · O'Rahilly Road & Wilton Vaugh Road
Black-timber A-frames named for the wild neighbours — fox, deer, red squirrel.
Six A-frames stand in the oaks off O’Rahilly Road, black timber against green. Each is named for a neighbour — Foxes Den, Squirrels Drey, Toad Hollow — and each cuts the same sharp silhouette against the sky: a steep dark roof, a wall of glass, a deck with logs pulled up around the fire pit.
Inside, the geometry does the work. The living space rises the full height of the frame, the glazed gable framing nothing but trees. Two bedrooms and the bathroom sit on the ground floor; the master keeps the loft, en suite, with a balcony over the room below. At night the only lights are yours and the stars.
Two bedrooms — each made up as a king or two singles, your choice at booking — a main bathroom, and the room you came for; an open-plan living space that runs the full height of the A, glazed gable to the trees.
The en-suite master, up under the apex, with its own balcony rail looking down over the living space. Lie back and watch the light move through the canopy.
